Lauren Morris

Lauren was born in Cape Town, South Africa and moved to Vancouver in 2000. She studied at the Cape Technikon as a Graphic Designer before moving on to pursue the Fine Arts. Lauren studied at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C. and the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. "Flowers are my passion and Rich color and energy are what inspire me most. I enjoy working with reflections, shadow and light creating a symphony of layers and movement.

Through the use of these colors and forms my objective in creating my paintings is in my desire to fulfill an emotional response, rather than focusing on the subject matter. I hope to inspire thought and to evoke the viewers’ emotions through visual imagery”. Lauren’s other exhibits include, three group shows as well as a Solo show at the "Sidney and Gertrude Zack Gallery", a duo show at the "Amelia Douglas Gallery" and a Solo show at the "Jericho Arts Center".

She has also participated in Art Vancouver, Dinner by Design and Vancouver Interior Design Show as well participating in the East Culture Crawl for the past 6 years.
