Ginger Sedlarova

Ginger Sedlarova is a collagist, storyteller and accidental archivist whose work embraces images and ideas that are eccentric, historical and full of colour. Her dedication to collage grew from a love of making photo
illustrations in her former career working on daily newspapers and magazines — only now she does this by hand, without an editor looking over her shoulder as she works.

Ginger’s collages layer images with colour and textures, maps, newsprint and vintage items, creating multi layered landscapes of both fable and history. These works observe and celebrate people and the marks they leave behind on the world.

“I love working with materials that have had a previous life, a history. My objective is to connect with the viewer through imagery and movement, showing them a moment in time or inspiring their own tale through my compositions.”
