My artwork is an expression of my life as someone who has experienced surgeries which have hindered on dreams. My art is either depicting an emotion or capturing a story that I have just experienced. I love painting landscapes, seascapes, florals and abstract. As a warrior of a chronic condition (including lung disease), this is where I find myself feeling the freest. The aspect of water and nature can be very grounding for me. In my paintings I use different swaying strokes, mixed media and vibrant colours to express different emotions.
My body of artwork differs from other artists as I focus on the resilience and positivity of life’s endeavors. These paintings are focused on the act of breathing. My paintings illustrate the pain versus triumph of breathing. For me, oxygen is valuable but rare to find. I work with a lot of gold to remind me to focus on light and positivity.
