Jessa Turner
I found my love of art and creating in the most unlikely and uninspiring place: a hospital bed in 2010.
In my rock bottom, art became my hope and my enjoyment bringing joy to a space that had grown dark. Unable to walk while awaiting a critical spinal surgery, excitement and purpose for life was reborn as I painted and created from the walls of a hospital room.
Through physical recovery as I learned how to walk again, painting and creating art was my biggest support as I would spend my days putting brush to canvas after canvas and selling online. Through selling and shipping over 1000 pieces around the world, I established my own style and development of a love for acrylic color in abstracts on canvas.
As a single mother living in the suburbs of Vancouver, BC I work in the mental health field and my inspiration for my art today is the strength it stirred for me through my years of recovery as I created for others.
