Ilana Wapniarski

Ilana Wapniarski is an abstract artist originally from Ottawa, Ontario, having moved to British Columbia in 2008. She currently resides in Burnaby, British Columbia with her husband and two dogs. She has been painting since 2020, when the Covid lock down inspired her to pick up a new hobby and she has painted nearly daily since that time.

Ilana works primarily with acrylics and various cement and sand-like mediums, and has an affinity for bright colours in her work. Her topics most often explore the human condition, with particular interest in human rights and political issues, mental wellness, and music.
