Doris Fiedrich
Is a German-Canadian photographer living in Vancouver. In her street photography, she looks for the unexpected moments that disappear almost as quickly as she can raise her camera. She captures people’s unselfconscious behaviors and gestures with an observant eye. Years of experience as a portrait, event, and dance photographer have sharpened her artistry; she responds instinctively.
Doris’s work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions, including at Kino Café, Artists in our Midst, PhotoHaus Gallery, Zack Gallery, and The Gallery George. It has been published in Vancouver Exposed by Eve Lazarus and Diffusion X Annual by Blue Mitchell. Doris uses creative techniques such as slow shutter movement, multiple exposures, and mixed media experimentation. Influenced by Joel Meyerowitz, Elliott Erwitt, Alec Soth, and Gordon Smith, her work captures fleeting, candid moments with a sense of surprise.
