Sharon Martyniuk

Sharon Martyniuk is a Canadian artist who’s richly constructed paintings explore colour and texture, and register as both highly abstracted and natural. 

In her current series, Imprints, Martyniuk puts densely applied acrylic to canvas in a controlled, staccato technique creating finely layered colour fields with varying levels of resolution. At times, the structure of the compositions open up to reveal expressive, gestural moments.
